In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) realized in Egypt

What is In Vitro Fertilization ?

In Vitro Fertilization in Egypt, commonly know as IVF, is a fertility treatment to help couples who are having difficulties to conceive babies.
This medical procedure is currently considered the most effective fertility treatment for most patients. The In Vitro Fertilization procedure combines different medical techniques and takes place over a period of several weeks or even months. The doctors will basically extract eggs, from the woman's ovaries, and then fertilize them with the man's sperm in a Petri dish. The embryos will then be preserved in the laboratory for 3 to 5 days before they can be transferred into the woman's uterus to continue their natural course of development like in any standard pregnancy.

Procedure :
how is a beard transplant performed?

A beard transplant is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that is similar to a hair transplant. It is usually performed under local anesthesia. There are different techniques that can be performed depending on the needs of each patient.

Unit Extraction : FUE

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the most common procedure for beard transplant so far. It doesn’t cause a major discomfort for the patient and has a relatively short recovery time while providing satisfying results.
To start the beard transplant, hair follicles are removed separately from the back of the head, which is the area that presents the thickest hair. After that, the doctor will place the hair follicles, one by one, in the areas where there is no hair in the face or little hair, such as the beard and the mustache.

how is In Vitro Fertilization performed ?

To increase the chances of a successful In Vitro Fertilization, the doctor will usually start by preparing the patient for the procedure first. He will prescribe specific medication to stimulate the ovaries to improve the quality of the eggs and increase their numbers.
Once that result is achieved, he will then start the first actual step of the IVF, which is the retrieval of the eggs. This procedure is done under local anesthesia to prevent any discomfort for the woman and takes about 15 min. The doctor will extract the eggs from the woman's ovaries using very precise instruments. A thin needle will be inserted in the uterus's wall, to collect a liquid that contains the eggs. In a separate room, the sperms will be collected from the man in a different container. In the laboratory, a specialist will separate the eggs from the rest of the fluids to prepare them for Fertilization.
The eggs and the sperm will then be joined together in a petri dish in the laboratory. The Fertilization process can be done naturally or can be medically induced.
The embryo will start developing in the laboratory for 3 to 5 days.
Once the embryo has reached a blastocyst stage, the doctor can perform the last step of the IVF procedure, which is the embryo transfer. The embryos will be inserted into the woman’s uterus to continue their development.
During the next couple of weeks, the patient might take some hormones and medications to help the uterine lining become thicker which would increase the chances of success of the IVF treatment.

Recovery: What should the
patient expect after an In Vitro Fertilization procedure?

After the procedure, you can resume daily activities, but you should avoid making any physical effort because that would cause a feeling of discomfort. If you develop any kind of pain, call your doctor to make sure there are no complications.

Results: what are the results of In Vitro Fertilization?

After 12 to 14 days, you can check the results of your In Vitro Fertilization. You will do a blood test to check whether you are pregnant or not. If you are, that will mean that the IVF procedure was a success. In that case, you need to continue the follow up with a gynecologist for the next 9 months of your pregnancy.
If the results of the blood test came back negative, you will stop taking hormones and you will get your period shortly after that. You can try In Vitro Fertilization again after a certain time that will be determined by your doctor.
